The IHC contributed to many of the building blocks for modern day history in the 1960's. The 1960's was IHC's Prime period of time. IH developed the three point hitch system for their tractors. IH also developed a new 113 H.P turbo charged motor to greatly increase farming efficiency. During the 60's IH released 42 new tractors and the IH Scout. In 1964 IH produced their four millionth tractor. Also In the 60's IH released six new high capacity combines. IH produced much more than just tractors. IH also produced its own line of home appliances and automobiles.
Although IHC was in their prime during the 60's profits remained low. A short time later IHC was bought by The Case Company, and was recognized as Case IH. The newly founded company still remains today.
